We bring together men living with prostate cancer, and other men with Prostate problems, from across the country, for a meaningful exchanged of information and experience with each other, clinicians and researchers. The Research teams are making great head way, as a layman, it was not easy to understand all of the scientific talk that was going on between research teams from Australia & Canada as well as other places. The support groups are designed to enhance our understanding of the issues surrounding prostate cancer, while providing an opportunity to learn from the shared experiences I asked if we were making a scanning tool that would produce images of the prostate, so good, that we would not need to take a biopsy . The scan would be superior and I am sure that all the Urologists would love to work with a scan image of the prostate. NOTE; At the close of the conference it was announced that research had indeed been started on a scan tool . It was expected that in 18 months trials would begin” Men with prostate cancer and their families need access to stat-of-the-art affordable treatment options, as well as current information regarding the latest prostate cancer research. The support groups and the PCFA believe this is the right of every man living with a diagnosis of prostate cancer in Australia. Support Group members and friends meet all over Australia We have the worlds BEST Organisation (PCFA) and research teams engaged in the process of prostate cancer treatment and research.
